The Cult of Natural Paganism: The Left’s Scientific Hubris. January 28, 2007

Ahh science, man’s eternal struggle to comprehend the innumerable, perpetually changing forces around him. About a century ago it was a realm only catering to the esoteric few; the brightest cortexes humanity had to offer joining forces, fighting a silent war against the unknown, and universities were citadels of the mind, gardens of scientific inquiry. Not for monetary gain, only for the thrill of slowly breaking down the immense barrier that seperates the most infantile of minds from the acropolis plane of omniscience; a staggering endeavour that would be mosly forgotten and unappreciated.

Today what was once a truly remarkable profession devoted to the discipline of pure intellectual expansion has become a full-fledged industry. America now has over 3 million scientists, who’s social status have been enhanced to nearly that of celebrities. Thanks to legislation like the Bayh-Dole Act, which allows academia to sell their research for exorbitant profit, what was once the classical realm of scientific inquiry has been transformed into a multi-million figure industry.

As a result, the line between research instititutes and corporations has all but dissolved; with every other high-brow postdoc and his grandmother conducting experiments that amount to little more than pseudo-science for massive grants from phamaceuticals and philanthropists. No one gives a damn if their research is going to actually amount to anything anymore, more bogus studies equals more grants equals sleeker Porsche.

But its transcended betyond just a bunch of biomed graduates seeking an extra million dollar or two; its actually gone to people’s heads, particularly the left. Thanks to all this scientific fluff floating around, all these sensationally implausible studies being touted as legitimate scientific developments, liberals are actually under the impression now that humans have absolute dominance over the eclectic machinations of the planet; they believe that a little smog reduction will prevent Armageddon, that stem-cell research will cure cancer tomorrow, that gene patents are the way of the future, the list goes on.

Consequently, we have a sort of cult of Gaia, a group of individuals so intensely warped by scientific tripe Kool-Aid that they believe they directly control the path of the Earth’s orbit; dangerous and intellectually regressive thought to be sure. The make-up of a single human cell is more complicated than the most vast economic market; and liberals are so hopelessly delluded that they think they can control the entire planet?

The fact of the matter is that the numbers don’t support these claims, heres a few examples. For a quick but essential primer on global warming, I direct you to the following links:

Bjorn Lomborg: Former Director of the Environmental Assessment Institute in Copenhagen setting global warming alarmism straight on Fareed Zakaria’s Foreign Exchange program.

Dr. Michael Crichton: Harvard trained anthropologist, biomed doctorate, scholar, and author; at the end of a fascinating lecture explaining complex systems and the environment, an absolute must watch. I would also recommend the earlier parts of the lecture which can be found on Youtube as well, but if you want the meat of it this should suffice.

Signing on to Kyoto would be a calamitous disaster; its purported environmental advantages are nil compared to the perverse economic catastrophe that would ensue upon adhering to it, this is an empirical fact that is absolutely indisputable. I would also like to remind liberals who are quick to bash America but are blind to the broader issue that the US is actually eons ahead in terms of CO2 emmision control relative to our EU counterparts that have actually signed on to the treaty. Kyoto is a legal invocation of mass poverty and regression; it inhibits our economy tremendously, is socially irresponsible and blatantly hypocritical by its nature. Forget about it now.

On stem-cell research, yes its true the potential for something useful to humans exists. But the hype surrounding it is insulting and appallingly unethical in its deliverance of false-hope to patients. The fact of the matter is that stem-cell research is an incredibly murky realm, its not going to foster results tomorrow, as the leftist sensationalized media claims on a regular basis. I’m not even concerned about dead fetuses, I’m concerned about public hope in a field that won’t produce anything concrete for many, many decades, and the likelihood of success in a 50/50 chance, maybe less.

Gene patenting isn’t quite as potent an issue here, but its certainly very scary. The fact that humans have the temerity to claim to own a piece of the human genome; a natural apparatus which has been in existence millions of years before the advent of capitalism, is chilling.

Also, I’d like to point out the strong relationship between the left’s deity complex in terms of the natural order and economics. Just as liberals are clouded by the false perception of their capacity to perfectly understand and wield the forces of the environment, they believe socio-economic central planning is the one true way. When in fact the historical precedent is bar none, indisputably in the favor of libertarian economic policy, rather than neo-socialist liberal market control.

So whats to be done? Its very simple:

Humility.

The left has to own up to the fact that no human being has at this point in time the knowledge necessary to dominate environments, whether natural, economic, or otherwise. Only when they have come to peace with this can we scientifically progress and have a better understanding of our infinitely multi-faceted world.

And to reach that point, this “scientific industrial complex” has to come to an end. Science has to return to its roots and lose this rampant intellectually dishonesty, research bias is now a bad joke; whoever writes the study manufactures the statistics. Its things like this that make modern American science a disgrace to the legacy of Einstein and Oppenheimer. Its time to bring this cult down.

Either that or they can all just commit suicide Wacco-style, whatever comes first.

Dirty Bomb Rap-Cookbook D.I.Y. January 27, 2007

Suitably posted in the wake of the Georgian uranium transaction bust, I present to you a track banned in the US from the British international Islamic punk/techno/ethno-fusion/rap/whatever band Fun-Da-Mental. Its about the birth of a dirty bomb, intriguing, very bizarre, kind of scary…

I can’t say in any respect that I supprt this group’s message, as they appear to be pro-jihad, neo-fundamentalists for a younger audience. I don’t imagine that their message is going to beĀ  spread too rampantly, but the dangerous prospects of a hip group propagating religious radicalism to an easily impressionable punk audience is incredibly frightening.

It would be like a whole new generation of hippies, except instead of dirty anarchic potheads with impossibly low proficiency with guitars it would be suicidal religious fascists. ;)
But I’ll give em’ this much, their music videos are at least more interesting than American R.A.P. (Retards Attempting Poetry) bands could ever hope to be.

Uranium Rising. January 27, 2007

So apparently a Georgian uranium smuggler was attempting to sell the nuke-blood to what he thought was an Islamic fanatic terrorist; fortunately it turned out to be an undercover FBI agent and the plot was thwarfed.

We live in a time of nuclear peril, if this story is any indication. Certainly we can’t keep our guard down, the prospects of radicals attaining nuclear capabilities are wholly plausible and preventing it should be paramount on our foreign policy itinerary.

However, I think its pretty clear that the current administration is chasing ghosts and missing the real problem. Iran is no threat, newsflash, Ahmadinejad is an illiterate monkey and no one takes him seriously.

Why?

He’s just a figurehead, he has no real power. The man who wields the armed forces is Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader. And it just so happens that he has condemned Ahmadinejad on numerous occasions, but don’t expect the alarmist slugs of the American media to report on this.

Uranium is the Dunesian Spice, a precious commodity that every mass-murderer has wet dreams about. But we appear to be searching for it in all the wrong places; first in Iraq where we very well knew the stories of Nigerian uranium trade where bogus (Scooter can testify to that I’m sure), and now in Iran, where the potentiality of Iran actually using a nuclear weapon are less than nil.

And even if they did manage to aquire nuclear weapons, what the hell would they do with them? Use them? The Iranians aren’t dumb, they know the instant they so much as field-test a missle they’ll be reduced to endoplasmic goo in miliseconds.

The fact of the matter is, yes, we’re waging a war against an elusive enemy seeking our absolute demise. But stop seeking out phantoms; start going after the places where the uranium black-market flourishes; Russia is notorious for having incredibly flimsy security on radioactive materials. How about we shut down a real WMD haven eh?

Mutinous Parasites: The Hollywood Left’s War on America. January 24, 2007

So apparently the “Church” of Scientology is now viewing Tom Cruise is a messianic figure who’s magnitude is comparable to that of Jesus Christ for Christians.

Now theres a lot to be said about the legitimacy of a religious sect when it praises a second-rate faggy-boy loser like Tom Cruise as its purported savior. But this revelation transcends beyond the obvious ludicriousness of the scientologic tradition; it is a statement about the entire institution of Hollywood and its toxic impact on American culture.

Lets first ask the question; why are so many Hollywood socialites compelled by the dogma of scientology? What posesses them to treat the manic ravings of a hardcore crack-head as meaningful religious doctrine?

Very simple, with their enhanced social status and monetary affluence, the Hollywood elite has generated an aura of self-importance and superiority around itself; constantly believing its views on politics, social issues, economics, and the like trump the common plebian philistines that consitute the American populous. So naturally Hollywood is far too sophisiticated for the arcane and ancient religions of old; it needs a savvy new alternative.

Even if its a mediocre work of science-fiction by a perpetually drunken pedophile by the name of L. Ron Hubbard.

But Hollywood’s subscription to the nihilisitc alien cult of scientology is but one manifestation of its narcissistical disdain for contemporary American culture. Indeed, Hollywood makes sport of making unsubstantiated and uncalled for attacks against the nation it so gleefully reaps profits off of. Constantly we see depthless, juvenile, two-dimensional outlooks on America’s role in the world, more times than not portraying it as villainious.

Some passing examples in recent memory include revolting attacks on American enterprise like Wall Street, The Constant Gardener, Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price, Super Size Me, (wow! If you eat massive McDonald’s meals every moment of every day, you’ll gain weight! Thank you Morgan Spurlock, you’re so insightful!) not to mention downright corrosive pieces of mind-rotting leftist propaganda like the Day After Tomorrow. And lets not forget perhaps the single most classic demonstration of Hollywood’s innate hatred for this country that they reap so much profit from, the film rendition of Clancy’s Sum of All Fears. In the book, a football stadium is annihilated by a nuclear bomb set off by Islamist extremists during the Super Bowl. In the movie, American-bred white supremacists are to blame. Its no secret that Hollywood has been kissing Castro’s ass for years, next thing you know we’ll be seeing a Ben Affleck movie exalting Bin Ladin has a mythic hero.

Constantly we are assaulted by images of celebrities making “bold” protests against America. You’ve got Johnny Depp whining about the many evils of America and how he hates it so much he’ll raise his kids in France (funny how he doesn’t make his money there), George Clooney suggesting Hollywood is single-handedly behind the civil rights movement and aid to Africa, Danny Glover embracing Hugo Chavez, Tim Robbins and Jane Fonda praising the Iraqi insurgency, Spike Lee suggesting that Hurricane Katrina was a Bush administration conspiracy against black people (I wonder what Colin Powell and Condolezza Rice think about this theory) and most recently the obscenely despicable creature that is Rosie O’Donnell randomly calling for Bush’s impeachment, without warrant or elaboration. Really its beyond me why this worthless lesbian harpy piece of crap even has a career in television; no looks, no brains, no personality, seems to be hated by everyone, who the fuck let her slip through the cracks?

Really what it is is that the Hollywood elite view themselves as the modern incarnation of the Enlightenment philosophers; a higher order of thinkers that have inherited this land and know far better than us common peons how to manage civilization. Thats why Angelina Jolie, Madonna, and so many other celebrity maggots adopt foreign children; its not as an act of charity, its just to inflate their already bloated egos, to give these wretched souls the priviledge to be raised by a member of Hollywood.

And of course, the ironic part is, none of these fools are intellectually adept or sophisticated; they’re not our benign dictators, they’re not philosopher kings…

They’re actors.

Their pathetic lives are that of a facade; they produce nothing but easily forgettable tripe that at best will earn them a statue that they’ll stash in some dusty case that no one looks at or cares about. Perhaps thats why they propagate this delusion of academic and moral superiority, because its the only thing keeping them alive; from succumbing to the reality of their trite and meaningless lives.

Whatever, let them drink their own Kool-Aid. It won’t last.

Well, I must say this was a more tolerable a speech than the usual tripe Bush deals out. Beyond the nauseating spectacle of having to watch Congress applaud George after every single fucking sentence, no matter how uninspiring or mundane, like primordial apes hailing an idiot savant; the speech was actually pretty solid. I can safely say I agreed completely with his economy policy, I always have, Bush has been masterful at that; single-handedly pulling the country out of a Clinton-induced recession into a glorious economic boom, very impressive.

And on foreign policy I agreed for the most part; a pre-mature withdrawal from Iraq would be to admit failure, which is a bit to early for the moment. While we’ve undoubtably screwed ourselves out there and are in some incredibly deep shit, there is still a chance to salvage some genuine good out of the situation, which I have previously outlined.

As usual, I didn’t appreciate Bush’s militant strides against Iran; certainly its presense in Iraq is directly detrimental to the war effort, and they must be confronted, but as I’ve shown time and time again their nuclear threat is quite minimal, and military intervention would be a fruitless endeavour.

Also the regressive characterization of Hezbollah as nothing more than a ruthless terrorist group didn’t help Bush’s image in my eyes. Hezbollah isn’t just some al-Qaida clone, it happens to be the majoritarian political party and defense mechanism of Lebanon against illegal occupation from Israel. Moreover, and this was no surprise once more, the quick shrugging off of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as a minor issue was rather insulting; it happens to be a primary reason why Islamic radicalism exists.

Which brings me to another point: the president is right, we are in the midst of a raging clash between ideologies, one progressive and democratic, one regressive and theocratic fascist. But the assertion that terrorists hate us “because we’re free” is wholly absurd, and seems to only be repeated to cater to the fantasies of impossibly apathetic Americans who don’t know any better.

We weren’t attacked on 9/11 because we’re free. We were attacked for two reasons, one being a legitimate geopolitical struggle against a perpetually Israeli-friendly West, and the other being the endless images of decadence and moral decay mainly originating from the cultural left that are being trasmitted to the people of the Middle-East While these images certainly don’t represent the majority of Americans, to the eyes of fundamentalists on another corner of the globe, who only see mainstream byproducts of our media, it certainly looks like we’re all Paris Hilton-like worthless socialities; which in turn inspires anger.

Of course it would be far more difficult to explain that than to simply use the canned “because we’re free” line, and I might have accepted that as a means to more easily content the plebian minds of our society a couple years ago. But its been 6 years since 9/11, its about time the president treats his citizenry like adults and not whimpering children and provides a more cohesive outlook on the situation.

But overall, it was a pretty tolerable speech. We are indeed in the midst of a struggle against oppression and fanaticism, all origin stories aside the fact remains that this cancer must be annihilated. George has Step 1 right, fix the mess he created in Iraq by doing what he should have done 4 years ago and dispatch a number of troops that can actually sustain stability. Step 2 gets a little more complicated, adn I’m not sure if he’s up to the job, but by that point we’ll have someone else in the office to try their luck.

The State of the Union?

Hopeful.

God bless America.

This American Idol “too mean” bullshit controversy is really pissing me off. I mean, I thought it would die down after like, a day. But I guess I was being too naive about the media’s capacity to fester absolutely worthless information with the ferocity of a critical breaking news bulletin.

Lets get one thing clear; no one on American Idol has, or ever had, any real talent. If you seriously need a sleazy News Corp. reality TV show to promote your innate showmanship prowess, you’re by default rendered a fraud. The closest thing to talent Idol ever had was Bo Bice, who was really little more than a second-rate Eddie Vedder rip-off, who lost to that laughably cliched, template country wannabee Carrie Underwood.

So no one should watch Idol seeking legitimate talent. The only thing remotely entertaining about the show is the self-mutilating farce that is the audition tapes. To watch such infinitely pathetic half-wits whoring their dignity away for 10 seconds of fame is absolutely priceless; and Cowell’s diatribe, while cliched and repetitive, is pretty damn funny nonetheless.

I don’t give a damn about the context of these tapes; whether these clowns actually are so unfathomingly delluded in their perception of their own talent, or they just want to become the next William Hung and make a quick million, I don’t care. Its a testament to American freedom that you can watch people willingly and fervently subject themselves to unabashed ridicule for the enjoyment of others. They know what they’re doing, they know the response they’ll get, they don’t have a right to get their feelings hurt, this has been goign on for 6 years.

And now the talking heads are complaining that Idol made fun of a kid who had attended a Special Olympics event? Give me a break, he wasn’t retarded, he knew what this would amount to. If anyone in his family was really concerned, they should have stopped him from going. The Special Olympics themselves said they had no problem with the tape, and the kid himself laughed it off in later appearances. Whats worse is that he now has an agent and seemingly legions of supporters, this smells like another William Hung fiasco.

There are so many exponentially more morally repugnant and decadent pieces of cultural trash filtered through the airwaves that MSNBC doesn’t seem to give a damn about; maybe they should try turning to MTV and watching Happy High School Crackwhore Adventure and do a special report on that.

Better yet, how about they turn to C-SPAN, Al-Jazeera, or the streets of Baghdad for pressing issues to report on?

Oh right, thats way out of their league. Better stick to doing stories on reality shows and celebrity divorce cases, much more suiting.

As Americans, we are on the brink of what is likely one of the most calamitous foreign policy maneuvers in recent memory; it is now fully in the realm of possibility that within the next year US forces will have been withdrawn from Iraq; thanks to the crass ineptitude and cowardice of Congress. Too eager to start a war, and even more eager to run away like scared animals with their tails between their legs; betraying their moral obligation to mend the wounds they themselves tore open.

It is an widely acknowledged fact that the Iraq war was a stupendous tactical error on the part of the Bush administration, I don’t need a hardcore liberal to lecture me on that. But we’re there.

Whats at stake in Iraq? A gargantuan power vortex, an influx of terrorist activity, a breeding ground for even more fervent Islamic radicalism. If we leave without finishing the job, we would be disowning the people of the Middle-East; as well as leaving a searing mark of shame on our conscience and global persona. This bullshit the Democrats are spewing about “having the Iraqis govern themselves, take responsibility, etc” is absolutely revolting. The Iraqis can’t function independent of us at this point in time and everyone knows it.

Withdrawal from Iraq would be a victory for the enemy.

Who is the enemy?

Al-Qaida? Ahmadinejad?

No, no its something far broader, far more hideous and powerful and complicated then that. It is the entire creed of Islamic radicalism, this regressive, fascist, cancerous plague of anti-civilization. Why does it exist? How can it be stopped?

First, it must be duefully noted that we are in large part to blame. American foreign policy, both that of liberal and conservative administrations, has been especially corrosive in the region, and directly correlated with the rise of Islamo-fascism.

Roosevelt did in fact allow the Soviet concquest of Afghanistan, which in turn consequented in the spawn of Bin Ladin and his compatriots.

We were just begging for the Islamic Republic when Eisenhower executed the morally objectionabledeposition of PM Dr. Mohammad Mossadeq, and installed Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi as monarch of Iran. Which in retrospect wasn’t a bad idea, during the Shah’s reign Iran experienced a market boon unheard of in the country’s history; Iran was one of the fastest growing economies in the world, its society was progressive and secularized, and it was allied with practically everyone, even its mortal enemy of today, Israel.

Then the left did what it usually does and caused discord in the name of “humanitarianism”, convinced Carter that the Shah was repressive and had him remove all support, which consequented in the rise of Khomeni and his Islamo-fascist clan of human filth, which led Iran into a cycle of opression, abject poverty, violence, and hated by the world at large. Guess what liberals? Yeah, the Shah was repressive, against the Islamic fanatics who later ruined the country!

Then Reagan had to go fuel Saddam, standing idly by as he massacred milions with American weapons; spawning even more hatred against us.

But of course the primary fuel to the flame has, and always has been, the illegal occupation of the West Bank and Gaza by Israel, and the west’s perpetual support of this theocratic war crime.

So the Islamists have some legitimate geopolitcal reasons to hate us, as well as the perceived western decadence fueled by the cultural left. But does this justify Islamo-fascism and untold amounts of violence? Certainly not.

Clearly we are facing a formidable foe, one that cannot be stopped by mere “shock n’ awe” tactics; the Bush administration learned that one the hard way. I propose another brand of democratic exportation, Francis Fukuyama calls something like it “realisitc Wilsonianism”, I call it civic neoconservatism; the spread of American democratic principles and the extinguishing of Islamic fundamentalism through means of intricate political and military excurions, executed in 4 seperate but dependant phases.

First of all, while I’m not at all pleased with the sloppy execution of Iraq, the absense of Saddam does pose a most monumental and lucrative situation for us tactically. We cannot withdraw, lest we want Iraq to become Trans-Iran or the Undemocratic Republic of al-Qaidia. We need to inject this volatile situation with 20k troops at the very least, 40k would be more preferrable, applying massive pressure on the insurgency. Moreover we’re going to have to participate in behind the curtain coercion with the Iranians and Syrians in order to stabilize the situation, its an absolutely essential sin. As criminal as these parties are, we’re going to have to at least initially work with them; it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve dealt with nefarious characters. If we manage to succeed and stabilize Iraq into a valuable ally, it will have made the whole ordeal worth it.

Secondly, the Israeli-Palestinian crisis must be concluded and now, its been 60 years, enough is enough. Israel need not be dissolved, innocent people live there as well; but it will grant Palestine the land it legitimately owes them, West Bank and Gaza; as well as a concrete Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Once this transaction has taken place, the Palestinians no longer have a justifiable pretext for there crusade against Israel, and if violence persists, further, more aggressive means must be taken.

Furthermore, we will put an end to the Iran crisis. Being an Iranian-American citizen, and having visited the country, I know first-hand the vast majority of people there want change. Iran’s population is 70 percent 30 years of age or younger, people are secular, progressive, and tired. The only reason Ahmadinejad was voted for was because he was elected by illiterate country bumpkins (hmm…this sounds familiar…) who don’t represent the majoritarian sentiment of Iran. There is a mass resevoir of revolution just waiting to be tapped, the US should sponsor and vigorously support an Iranian democratic coup.

While the prospects of mutual assured destruction through a Iranian nuclear war are relatively nil (Ahmadinejad talks big, but has no military power, the capacity to launch a nuclear assault lies in the hands of Supreme Leader Khamenei, and he has no intention of doing such) this regime should most defnitely be taken out. With a stable, secular iran in place and as an ally, we would have dealt a massive blow to the Islamic radicals who looked to Iran as a Muslim Vatican; dissolution for the fundamentalist hatebreed would be inevitable.

And finally, we can no longer have double-standards. If we want to combat Islamic radicalism, its about time we stop supporting the detestable Saudi, Egyptian, and Pakistani regimes; not to mention take a harder stance on Libya. Since we disamred them of their WMD in 2003, we’ve re-embraced the Libyian leadership and resumed diplomatic relations with them, this is unacceptable; Qadhafi is still a deranged Islamic fanatic and war criminal that needs to be taken out. Its all or nothing, hypocrisy is out of the question, its time to wipe these bastards off the face of the Earth, lets start by stop inadvertetly financing them.

Mr. Bush probably didn’t know how right he was when he said (paraphrased) “the war on terror is likely to bea long one, and will be a war fought unlike any other war”. It is unfortunate that we had such a thick-skulled man to inherit the legacy of America’s foreign policy mistakes in the Middle-East. But this is truly a war for civilization, one that can’t be fought like a conventional war.

Lets hope that Bush’s sucessors are a little brighter; but if our current Congress is any indication, we’re in serious trouble.

For the love of all things holy, I sincerely invoke hellfire upon the unspeakably retarded assholes behind the Golden Globes. To endure that 3 hour bravado-fest, just to watch every deserving nominee lose.

To watch The Office, arguably the funniest show on television today, lose to the bloated, untalented commie fatass piece of shit Alec Baldwin and 50 Rock was unendurably painful.

To watch Lost, one of the most beautifully written, intriguing, staggering works of fiction ever to be projected on screen, a program which has brought praise from such visionaries as Orson Scott Card, lose to Broadville General, aka ER With More Sex, aka Grey’s Anatomy, was a crime against the art of writing. Best drama my ass.

And South Park wasn’t even nominated for anything, isn’t it about time they have an animated series category? Metalocalypsewas also a worthy candidate for kicass animated show, oh well.

But the biggest act of filmographic indecency was yet to come…

Because when Borat lost the Best Comedy Award to Dreamgirls, I swear I saw a massive tear from God drop from the sky.

How.

How.

HOW?!

Borat, quite possibly the funniest movie ever made, lost to fucking Dreamgirls?!

Whoever was responsible for that deserves nothing less than death by rape.

Goddamn Hollywood sucks.

This is absolutely revolting; the insentient baboons of Congress doggedly supported the Iraqi invasion like maggots; without objection, without thought, without reason, regardless of party affiliation. And now that they’ve unleashed the nefarious legions of the Islamic crusade against civilization upon Iraq, now that they’ve opened Pandora’s Hellgate wide-open, now that the Iraqi people need us more than ever, they want ot leave?

Have you no spine? No consience?

No shame?

If the recent bombing in the US embassy at Athens was any indication, we’re not home free, the war isn’t over, its barely started. You ignited the fire, you started it, now you want to cut-and-run like cowards?

Despicable, worthless little creatures all of you; you support any motion that will gain popularity the American idiocracy. As long as you get your votes, you don’t give a damn about anything. Goddamn all of you.

While I cannot offer any superlative reviews of Mr. Bush’s speech this evening, I can suprisingly report that the revolting degree of petulence, statistical inaccuracies, and overall spin-jobs that his usual speeches dish out in droves was absent tonight.

As a matter of fact, I can, for perhaps the first time in 7 years, claim that I agreed with one of George Bush’s foreign policy plans. I completely agreed with his points on the troop surge and his rationale behind seeing the Iraqi conflict through to its end; the tactical and geopolitical benefits of stabalizing the region and the staggering fallout incurred by a pullout.

And, for the first time ever, Bush even confessed to making mistakes in Iraq, and taking responsibility for it. Half a decade late, yes, but an apology all the same. Not going to accept it, but I will acknoledge it.

Now, for some points I felt George was morbidly mistaken on; he suggested military engagements with both Iran and Syria, an ideological pipedream at best, a fanatical war-mongering spree at worst. As subversive and vile as both nations are, war is not the instrument that must be employed to topple them. As a matter of fact, for the present we should be conniving with them in pursuit of a solution to the current Iraqi crisis; it wouldn’t be the first time the United States dealt with fascists, just ask Saddam.

Oh, right.

In any case, it isn’t inconceivable that behind-closed-doors talks are in fact taking place between these nations, and the Bush inner circle crowd hasn’t talked about it because of fears of spoiling their image. We can only hope that they’re that shrewd.

Another point of essential necessesity when it comes to Middle-Eastern peace is the issue of the dismantling of the Zionist stranglehold on the region. It would be an absurdity to speak of regional tranquility while Israel still maintains its illegal, oppressive, barbaric realm of control over the Palestinian people. As long this problem persists, as long as this symbol of Judaeo-Christian brutality against Muslims exists, groups like al-Qaida can never be extinct.

Unfortunately, we’ll need a group far more progressive than the Bush clan in power if we ever want that particular problem fixed, and I wasn’t really expecting anything of note in this regard from the speech, but just pointing it out for posterity.

I would also like to evaluate the Democratic response to the speech. I must say, it was actually one of the most preposterous criticisms of anything Bush has said I’ve ever seen. First we had Durbin ranting on about the US having “won the war” and “time for the Iraqis to fend for themselves” and “we’re not the Iraqi 911 force”.

Actually Dick, we are. We became the primary, long-term benefactors of Iraq the day we invaded, for better or for worse. And your absurd little suggestion that they now have the capacity to function without our assistance, just because Saddam is out of power, is childish and demonstrates your complete lack of knowledge and appreciation of the magnititude of the situation we’re facing. Iraq isn’t over, its barely begun, its a vast power vacuum thats up for grabs by giants like Iran. And let me tell you something, if Baghdad becomes New Tehran a couple years down the line because of your crass ineptitude in executing a pullout, you should be humiliated for life.

And thatpretty much summed up the Democratic rebuttal; Durbin’s colleagues like Obama more or less replicated the same aimless babble. In summation, I wasn’t wholly impressed by Bush’s speech, but it was certainly an improvement, and I even agreed with some of his points, clearly he left a lot left to be desired however. And his opponents were just as infantile as ever, nothing terribly surprising there.

God, why aren’t there any really smart politicans?

Oh, right, if anyone is actually smart, by definition the political arena is the last of their possible enterprises to be considered, my mistake.
